The Bishop Brady Interact Club
The Bishop Brady Interact Club was chartered in 1997 under the sponsorship of the Rotary Club of Concord. This service-oriented student organization is open to all Bishop Brady students. The club holds bi-weekly meetings throughout most of the school year to consider and plan a variety of service projects. Members also have the opportunity to attend Concord Rotary luncheon meetings to keep our group informed of our sponsor club's activities and to let Rotarians know what our Interact Club is doing.
The group's most popular event is the annual Children's Christmas Fair held in early December. Concord-area children, ages 12 and under, are invited to the school to purchase gifts (all gifts are priced $3 or less) for their family members. Some Interactors act as Santa's elves to help the children select their gifts, while other club members wrap the gifts. Each child completes this morning outing with cookie decorating and a visit with SANTA. Other group activities include an annual Senior-citizens' event, a Valentine's Computer-Fun Fundraiser for Bishop Brady students, and various service projects with the Concord Rotary Club.
The club is currently helping seniors Shannon Walsh and Johnny Bassett with the BBHS Talent Show, scheduled in April. Interactors are providing the refreshments and have invited area senior citizens to be our guests at this fun event. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Concord Boys and Girls' Club.
