2007/2008 Bishop Brady Math Team
The Bishop Brady Math Team competes in the SMASH league, the NEML league, the WPI Invitational, and the New Hampshire State Math Competition. SMASH,the Southern Mathematics Association of Senior High league competes monthly at high schools in the southern New Hampshire area.
The SMASH season begins in October and runs until March. NEML, the New England Math League competitions are held monthly at Bishop Brady High School. There are six competitions which run from October until April. The WPI Mathematics Invitational is held annually in October at Worchester Polytechnic Institute. The New Hampshire State Mathematics Competition is held annually in March at Plymouth State University.

2007/2008 SMASH Season Results
Congratulations to the Bishop Brady Math Team for a very successful 2007/8 SMASH season in the small-medium school division with seven New Hampshire high schools. Bishop Brady did very well placing 4th behind St. Paul's, Derryfield and Trinity High School. Our top performers were seniors Paul Nowell and Tara Fitzgerald each with 27 points and freshman Eric Samuel and Sean Fitzgerald with 13 and 11 points respectively. We look forward to another successful year in 2008/9 with the Bishop Brady Math Team.
NEML Season Results
NEML competitions are held at Bishop Brady High School from 2:45 to 3:15 on the second Tuesday of each month. Scores are posted on the Internet. The results for the high schools in New England are distributed at the end of the season. Congratulations to our top
performers Paul Nowell, Tara Fitzgerald and Eric Samuel.
2007 WPI Worchester Polytechnic Institute Mathematics Invitational
The Mathematical Sciences Department of WPI held their Nineteenth Annual Invitational Mathematics Meet in the Harrington Auditorium on the campus of WPI on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Student with the highest score will received a$3,000 scholarship to WPI. Second and third places will received a $2000 WPI scholarship and $1,500 WPI scholarship, respectively. In addition, each student who did not receive one of these awards, but who was the top scorer from their school's four-person team,
received a $1,000 scholarship to WPI. In order to receive the awarded scholarships, students must be accepted to WPI through the
normal procedures for admission and must matriculate at WPI as a full time freshman in a degree granting program.
Congratulations to Bishop Brady senior Paul Nowell for being awarded a Scholarship to Worchester Polytechnic Institute for his
performance at this competition.
2008 NH State Mathematics Competition at Plymouth State University Results
Congratulations to the 2007/8 Bishop Brady Math Team!! They came in third place in the Small School Division at the 36th Annual New Hampshire State Mathematics Competition at Plymouth State University! They brought home a beautiful wall plaque to be displayed at our school. Inter-Lakes High School took first place and Sant Bani High School took second place in this division of 12 schools.
