2007/8 Investment Club
The Investment Club was started to help foster an interest in the stock market and how the world runs on trading. The club follows selected stocks and investigates the companies and how the world economy will impact the companies' future earnings. To date, the club has traded in such stocks as Pepsi, Toyota and General Electric. Many of the members have also used a virtual stock exchange program, trading up to $10,000 in virtual money, and following their "gains and losses" through the internet.
Club members took a trip to New York City last year to visit the New York Stock Exchange, and were able to actually go on to the trading floor and watch as stocks were bought and sold.
