The purpose of the Bishop Brady Library and Media Centeris to support and enrich the School's educational program.  We provide print and non print resources as well as various media and advanced technologies in order to help strengthen and enhance the curricula, develop information literacy skills and encourage intellectual curiosity.

The Library has an 8,500 volume print collection accessed electronically, magazine subscriptions, daily newspapers, online subscription services and State sponsored access to several databases.   We have unrestricted access to both print and non print information resources.  Staff  work with individuals, study groups and classes to enhance competencies in their searches for information.

The Library is open each school day from 7:30 to 3:30.  All students, staff and members of the Brady family are welcome.   The environment is academic but relaxed and rules for use and behaviors are essentially the same as those for the entire school --  courtesy to and respect for others' rights and needs.

The Media Center supports the curriculum with a 22 computer terminal laboratory
and Smart board technology for faculty directed learning;  a portable computer lab;  and traditional audio/visual equipment in each classroom.  An audio/visual lab will soon be furnished with the latest publishing and production equipment.

Students are encouraged to regularly check the Library Page on their Edline.  This site contains continuously updated resource guides, tutorials, Librarian's recommendations, and links to subscription services, the collection access catalog, databases and especially noteworthy Internet sites.
