Bishop Brady has a diverse set of clubs, organizations, and activities that are co-curricular, as illustrated by the summary of some of them below. Please click on the club of interest above to learn more about each one.
Drama Club
Advisor: Ms. Karen Braz
Drama provides students with the opportunity to learn acting and technical support skills. Two one-act plays will be performed in the Fall. The annual competition play will be held in March for the New Hampshire Educational Theatre Guild Festival and a musical will be performed in the Spring.
French Club
National World Language Week, French film movie nights, and Christmas activities are planned to help celebrate French language and its' culture. The club also sponsors trips to Montreal and Quebec in the spring.
Granite State Challenge
Advisor: Mr. Dyment
Every other year BBHS is invited to participate in a statewide competition of the minds. Students meet early in the Fall to prepare for the first event and hopefully continue to the finals in the spring.
Math Team
Advisor: Mrs. Fitzgerald
The math team meets weekly to work on an assortment of mathematical problems, theorems, proofs and other complicated problems. These small adventures help prepare and develop the skills necessary for regional and statewide competitions.
Music
Advisor: Mr. Lane
The music department offers a wide variety of performance opportunities for Brady students. These include: concert band, concert choir, Jazz band and music ministry. Choral and Band students will attend the NH All-State Music auditions in November and a Christmas concert will be scheduled for an evening in December for the public to enjoy. A spring concert will also be scheduled featuring band and choral students and a variety of musical styles will be featured.
National Honor Society
Advisors: Mr. Miller, Mrs. Pingree & Mrs. Reynolds
The NHS chapter of Bishop Brady High School is a duly chartered and affiliated chapter of this prestigious organization. Membership is open to those students who meet the required standards in four areas of evaluation: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. For the scholarship criterion, a student must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher.
Newspaper
Participation on the newspaper, "The Student Voice", is open to all students in grades 9-12. Students are needed to work as reporters, editors, graphic designers, layout editors, salesmen and photographers. The Student Voice is published 4 times a year and covers issues of concerns to the Brady community.
Interact
Advisor: Mrs. Damour
Interact is a student service organization, sponsored world-wide by local Rotary Clubs. The BBHS Interact Club, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Concord, is actively involved in several school, local and world community service projects each year. These include our annual Children's Christmas Fair and Senior Citizens' Dance. The club recently donated funds to build a school in Central America. Membership is open to any Brady student.
SADD
Advisor: Mrs. Seagroves
Students Against Destructive Decisions is to raise student awareness about the dangers of substance abuse. We sponsor guest speakers and participate in national programs such as Red Ribbon Week and National Smoke-Out Day.
Science Club
Advisor: Mrs Pingree
The Bishop Brady science club is the perfect club for students who are interested in science. The club plans to take at least two field trips this year. The students will visit the Boston Museum of Science and the New England Aquarium, and may plan other trips if there are enough students who are interested. Club members will also plan to celebrate Earth Day this spring by selling Earth Day t-shirts and hosting guest speakers. The money raised through this sale will be donated to the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire's Forests. The students are also talking about plans to sponsor a road-side clean-up day and/or doing a pet food collection for a local animal shelter.
Ski Club
Advisor: Mrs. Boudette
Ski Club participates in the Pat's Peak Learn to Ski Program. The program begins after the Christmas break.
Student Council
Advisor: Mr. Bergeron
The members are involved in school government and serve as the liason between the student body and school administration. They also help to provide a positive school image by performing various community services. Student Council members plan and organize activities which includes homecoming, winter carnival, and spring fling.
TAU Advisor Mrs. Fairbanks All Bishop Brady students can be members of this club. TAU is the Greek word for Peace and usingthis symbol as the anagram: "Teens About Understanding". Members of this group work to build the spiritual aspects of their community through prayer, meetings, and action. As TAU members, they are encouraged to work together to witness to and bring an understanding of the call to be truly alive in Christ.
Yearbook
Advisor: Mrs. Lee
Participation on the Yearbook Staff is open to students in grades 9-12. These students design, plan, prepare and then submit for publication the entire yearbook each year. Photography, journalism, graphic design and desktop publishing are important components of the yearbook staff's work.
