Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you. Deuteronomy 16: 17
Community service is an integral part of the Bishop Brady vision. We have many service opportunities for our students. Community leaders are encouraged to contact the Campus Minister if they are in need of volunteers. Because we are called by Jesus to serve, our students provide thousands of service hours at a variety of community based organizations as well as initializing spontaneous service in times of unexpected need.
Portfolios
All students are required to complete 100 hours of community service throughout their four years at Bishop Brady High School. Further details about this can be found in the Student/Parent Handbook and Program of Studies. Their work is encapsulated in a portfolio.
Operation Santa
This is a special project that Bishop Brady has supported for many years. Parents, students and faculty/staff undertake this service program which provides Christmas gifts to 130 underprivileged children from the State of New Hampshire. Brady works in collaboration with the State of New Hampshire Employees Union.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
Each year, the Brady community sponsors a food drive that supplies 20-25 food baskets for families in our immediate need based neighborhood. This program is a favorite of the students because they can see the fruits of their labor from the inset of collecting food, assembling the baskets, and the actual delivery to the families.
