Regular Dress Day Guidelines
Regular Dress Days Tuesday - Thursday
Shirts/Blouses:
• Appropriately buttoned solid, checked or striped shirts/blouses. For males, all shirts must be tucked in.
• No neon colors, flannel, or shirts with patterns, words, letters, numbers, pictures or symbols other than small manufacturer logo.
• No tank tops, midriff tops, halter tops, t-shirts, or sweatshirts.
• Polo shirts with the Bishop Brady logo purchased on the Tommy Hilfiger
website are allowed in any solid color.
• All shirts must completely cover the abdomen.
Sweaters: A sweater is a knit fabric.
• No words, letters, numbers, pictures or symbols other than small
manufacturer logo.
• Business-appropriate quarter-zipped sweaters and fleece are allowed.
Turtlenecks:
• May be worn under sweaters, fleece jackets, or vests.
Bishop Brady Jackets, Fleece, Vests and Sweatshirts.
• Jackets, fleece, vests, rugby shirts and sweatshirts with Bishop Brady name or logo may be worn on regular dress days.
• Outdoor wear is prohibited in classrooms and must be left in the locker.
Pants/Shorts (males):
• Any solid color pants, khakis, cargo pants, or corduroys, or shorts (during approved months).
• No drawstring pants/shorts, jeans, sweatpants, pajama bottoms, or any form-fitting clothing.
Skirts, skorts, slacks, capris, shorts (females):
• Skirts,or skorts from approved vendors only. Check vendors for acceptable colors and style options.
• Tights or leggings under skirts are highly recommended in the winter months.
• Solid color slacks, cargo pants, capris and shorts are allowed.
• Skirts, skorts and shorts must be of modest length (no more than 4” above the knee).
• No jeans, sweatpants, pajama bottoms or yoga pants. No leggings (UNLESS UNDER A SKIRT). Spandex or other form-fitting pants are prohibited.
Shorts: Cargo or dress-style shorts may be worn on regular dress days during the months of August, September, October, April, May, and June.
• No short shorts or gym/athletic shorts.
Shoes:
• Dress shoes or boat shoes must be worn on Formal Dress Days.
• Shoes designed to be worn with laces must be tied.
• Birkenstocks and boots are allowed.
• Sneakers that are in good condition may be worn except on Formal Dress Days.
• Flip-flops and slippers are prohibited AT ALL TIMES including dress-down days. Stockings/ Socks/ Hosiery:
• Socks are not required but highly encouraged.
• Tights are recommended in the winter months.
• NO over-the-knee stockings, fishnets, or tights with inappropriate designs or words.
Ties/Belts or Suspenders:
• Males must wear an appropriate and professional tie on Formal Dress Days.
• Appropriate belts or suspenders must be worn by males on formal dress days.
Other:
• Gauge-type earrings are prohibited.
• Tattoos must be covered during the school day.
• Hats may not be worn in the building except for themed dress-down days.
• Hair should be neat and clean. No mohawks. Males must be clean-shaven
and sideburns shall not extend below the ear lobe.
• No excessive makeup.
