School Counseling
The mission of the Bishop Brady School Counseling Office is to build positive relationships to ensure the academic, career, and social/emotional growth of all students.
By utilizing a holistic counseling approach, the School Counseling Office provides the tools to empower students to achieve their individual and post-secondary goals.
The SCO works collaboratively with Bishop Brady staff to ensure the needs of all students are met. Our counselors develop and foster strong relationships with students and parents, maintaining trust and true compassion. Our academic coach offers the services and support students may need to meet their academic goals. Our registrar works to create overall schedules, plus provide grades & transcripts. Everyone strives to connect and guide students towards their goals: academically, socially, and emotionally.

Counseling Techniques and Interventions
The School Counseling Office addresses student goals through the use of individual, group, and systems-wide counseling techniques and interventions. We assist students throughout the college process, helping them to identify their skills and interests, plus how to utilize this knowledge to positively influence their future. We take pride in the multiple individual counseling sessions we have with our students - focusing on their progress toward their academic goals and post-secondary plans, while also providing mental health check-ins, as we recognize our students’ social/emotional well-being greatly affects their success.

Academic Support Services
Students at Bishop Brady are immersed in a community that cultivates individual growth in learning, faith, and service. This growth begins in an environment that nurtures talents and supports struggle. Growth is also shown in each Brady student's pursuit of excellence in the classroom, on the athletic field, and in his or her social life.
As a means of supporting each student's growth, we offer a variety of support options. It is an important part of our mission that each young man and woman seeking an education at Bishop Brady have the services and support they need to achieve their potential. Bishop Brady offers multiple levels of academic assistance to help both the student who is doing well and wants to push themselves to the next level, as well as the student who is struggling to achieve their full potential.
As part of the School Counseling Office, students can receive differing levels of academic support and academic coaching. Students may receive help in various ways such as academic support with assignments, organization skills, test prep, planning/prioritizing work, task initiation and completion, goal setting, and time management skills. The coaching goal is to assist the student in developing their own personal strategies and skill set that can be applied to current and future academic settings. Students who qualify can be given additional support through an Individual Success Plan that lists specific accommodations and supports. Coaching and academic support is available to all students.
