School Uniforms

The dress code at Bishop Brady encourages an atmosphere of professionalism, discipline, and equity.  Students are required to be in proper dress for the entirety of the school day.


The week is broken up into three types of dress codes:

  • Monday: Formal Dress Day
  • Tuesday - Thursday: Regular Dress Days
  • Friday: Brady Spirit Day


Formal Dress Day

  • All students must wear the green Bishop Brady blazer
  • Males must wear dress pants, a belt/suspenders, a solid-colored dress shirt, and an appropriate and professional tie/bowtie
  • Females must wear dress code skirt/skort or dress pants and a solid-colored dress shirt/blouse
  • Dress shoes or boat shoes are acceptable. No sneakers or athletic footwear are allowed to be worn
  • Sweaters, fleecewear, jackets, and shorts are prohibited

Regular Dress Day Guidelines

SHIRTS & POLOS

  • Shirts/blouses may be solid, checked, or striped. No neon colors, flannel, or shirts with words, letters, numbers, pictures, or symbols (other than small manufacturer logo). No more than one pocket
  • Shirts must be appropriately buttoned and tucked in
  • No tank tops, midriffs, halter tops, t-shirts, sweatshirts, or flannel
  • Polo shirts with the Bishop Brady logo may be worn and can be purchased through the uniform supplier
  • Polo shirts must be tucked in

JACKETS, SWEATERS, VESTS

  • Fleece vests and jackets (full or quarter-zip) with the Bishop Brady logo may be worn and can be purchased through the uniform supplier
  • Casual jackets purchased through the Bishop Brady school store may be worn
  • Sweaters may not be neon or have words, letters, numbers, pictures or symbols (other than small manufacturer logo)
  • Business-appropriate quarter-zip sweaters are allowed
  • Please plan to have at least one cold-weather option to wear during the winter months. Outdoor wear is prohibited during the school day

BOTTOMS

  • Dress pants, khakis, or corduroys in dress code colors (navy, khaki, grey, black)
  • Pants may not have sewn on patches or pockets with rivets
  • Pants must be worn at the waist and may not be tucked into socks or boots
  • Males must wear a belt/suspenders
  • Tights/leggings are recommended under dress code bottoms for females during winter months
  • No jeans, cargo pants, sweatpants, yoga pants, leggings (unless under a skirt), spandex, or other form-fitting pants are allowed
  • Shorts and capris are allowed during warmer months
  • Skirts, skorts, and shorts must be of modest length (no more than 4" above the knee)

SHOES

  • Shoes with laces must be laced and tied
  • Sneakers in good condition may be worn except on formal days
  • Boots may be worn from November through March. Pants may not be tucked into boots
  • Moccasins, sandals without back straps, flip-flops, and clogs are prohibited

ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES

  • Socks are not required but highly encouraged
  • Solid-colored tights are recommended, especially during winter months
  • No over-the-knee stockings, fishnets, or tights with inappropriate designs or words
  • No facial or body piercings are allowed except earrings. Gauges are prohibited
  • Tattoos must be covered during the school day
  • Hats may not be worn in the building except for themed dress-down days
  • Hair must be neatly trimmed, clean, and of the color spectrum that grows naturally. Facial hair must be clean and sideburns shall not extend below the ear lobe
  • No excessive makeup

Friday Spirit Day

  • Bishop Brady spirit, club, advisory, or athletic tops may be worn including t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, or jerseys
  • Bottoms shall conform to regular day dress code

Bishop Brady High School partners with Tommy Hilfiger Global Schoolwear for the majority of your uniform needs. Blazers, skirts, polos, and fleecewear can all be purchased with the school's logo.
